Constructive feedback

We all know the power of good feedback, but to paraphrase Robin Sharma, some feedback makes people bitter rather than better.

 

Who will benefit from this training?

Any line manager who gives feedback/ facilitates professional dialogue based on lesson observations, learning walks etc.

 

Format:

Live online via Zoom. 3 hours total (can be 2 x 1.5 hours). Arranged at a mutually convenient time with the school.

By the end of the training, participants will:

  • understand the importance of building trust and credibility;
  • have explored how to navigate some of the complexities of lesson visits;
  • identify important factors to plan ahead of giving feedback;
  • have explored frameworks and strategies for delivering feedback and fostering professional dialogue;
  • have practised techniques for developing rapport, demonstrating empathy and finding common ground;
  • have developed a range of questions and thinking prompts;
  • have explored a range of common feedback scenarios;
  • be more confident to give impactful feedback.
